Cristina is passionate about working with professional Latinas to find solutions to overcome personal and systemic challenges and obstacles through culturally-relevant exploration of identity and personal sources of power to maximize their leadership potential.

Learn About Me

Cristina is a Latina leadership scholar, consultant, and coach. She has a PhD in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego (USD). Her dissertation focused on Latina leader identity development and her broader research agenda encompasses culturally relevant leadership training for Latinas, including the creation of a game-based leadership development workshop “El Rio de Dichos.” Cristina has also taught undergraduate and graduate leadership courses at USD and National University, respectively.

She is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) trained and accredited coach with well over 150 hours of coaching and interviewing emerging and established Latina leaders. She has a Master’s degree in Politics, Economics and Business from Claremont Graduate University and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Cal State University with a minor in Latina American Studies, Fullerton.

The common thread throughout her leadership journey has been addressing the disparities, or injustices, faced by the Latina community in the United States. She is on the Steering Committee for the Latina Success Leadership Program for MANA de San Diego, an amazing Latina advocacy nonprofit organization.

Cristina lives in San Diego, California with her son, Vincent, and daughter, Lila. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, extraverting and traveling.
